The United States Department of Labor (DOL) administers the Energy Employee Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA), a program designed to assist individuals who developed illnesses as a result of their work in the nuclear weapons industry during the Cold War era.

Who Qualifies for EEOICPA?

EEOICPA provides benefits to a variety of individuals, including:

  • Nuclear weapons workers

  • Uranium miners

  • Millers

  • Haulers

What Benefits Does EEOICPA Provide?

EEOICPA provides a number of benefits to eligible individuals, including:

  • Compensation for medical expenses

  • Lost wages

  • Death benefits

How to Apply for EEOICPA Benefits

To apply for EEOICPA benefits, you must submit a claim form to the DOL. You can find the claim form on the DOL website.

In addition to filing a RECA claim, uranium miners, millers, and haulers who developed certain illnesses as a result of their work may also be eligible for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). To apply for EEOICPA benefits, you must submit a claim form to the U.S. Department of Labor.
